If you took Halle Berry back 15 years, you'd be looking directly at Gabrielle Union. A deadlock for the eventual replacement of our dear Halle, Gabrielle's youthful streak of fame is only prepped to continue with the impressive resume she's been building over the past five years. Her soft, black skin and killer smile are only a few of the amazing features you'll fall for when you see Gabrielle on the big screen. After graduating with a Sociology degree from UCLA, Gabrielle interned at a modeling agency and was often mistaken for a model. Impressed by the flattering comments, Gabrielle was perked with the idea of future in the business and dropped out of law school, signing on as a model for the agency. Gabrielle began her first big shoot in only three days, featured in the popular Teen Magazine.

When Gabrielle finally decided on pursuing an acting career, she made her rounds in TV Land as a guest actress on shows like "Saved By the Bell," "Moesha," "7th Heaven" and a recurring lead role on the ephemeral hospital series "City of Angels." After Gabrielle appeared in her share of the mass-produced teen comedy crop of the late 90's, she broke into the mainstream with urban films like "Love & Basketball," "The Brothers," and a critically acclaimed role in "Deliver Us From Eva." In 2001, Gabrielle's role on NBC's "Friends" marked the first African-American love interest for any of the show's characters. Gabrielle's star status continues to grow with every year, continually finding ways of breaking new ground for African-American actresses.

Gabrielle on the Screen

Gabrielle's brief roles in the teen comedies "She's All That" and "10 Things I Hate About You" started a small career that abruptly exploded with the huge success of the cheerleader comedy "Bring it On." She has since received more responsibility in her roles, appearing in a slew of top-notch films like "Love & Basketball," "Welcome to Collinwood," "Cradle 2 the Grave" and "Bad Boys 2." While Gabrielle is one of the fastest rising black actresses in film history, she's definitely no one-hit wonder. Don't let her humility fool you, she's intent on staying around for quite awhile.

Gabrielle Says

On the ins and outs of Hollywood:
"What's discouraging is that just being talented isn't enough to make it. There is so much BS out there that you have to factor in to have a career."

On Michael Bay's "Bad Boys 2":
"He also made me wear a padded bra. You know, nothing says DEA agent more than double D's."
