Mandy Moore

Celebrity Babes Home / Entertainment Channel

Mandy Moore may not be a part of the pop Royal Family with Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, but she certainly has the looks and success of a Celebrity Babe. With her consistent ability to swing from good-girl to bad-girl and a recently matured personality, Mandy is a bubblegum princess worth getting to know. Prepped for stardom at a young age, Mandy began her road to fame as the "National Anthem Girl," a title she quickly acquired by singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" for all major sports teams. Once her unrivaled ability for success was apparent, Mandy jumped into commercials, TV pilots and voice-overs for animated films in the hopes of becoming a household name overnight. Her dreams weren't granted until a few years later; receiving a number of demo requests after a music producer met her during the recording of a theme song for a TV pilot. When she finally signed a deal with Sony Music with promises of a debut album and a chance at stardom, Mandy didn't know she wouldn't be the only one.

After the release of her first album So Real, Mandy joined the ranks of other teeny-bopper pop queens and went on tour with boy band sensations like N*Sync and the Backstreet Boys. While she continued her musical career with two follow-up albums, Mandy quickly grew tired of the pop star image, throwing down her microphone and picking up movie scripts while she reanalyzed her life as a singer. In her first role as a bitchy cheerleader in the Disney film "The Princess Diaries," Mandy established a place in Teen Hollywood, but has yet to star in a film that will introduce her as a real actress. In 2003, Mandy returned to the music scene with an album solely devoted to singing her favorite 70's and 80's tracks. While it was nice to finally see Mandy grow up as an artist, the real test will come when she learns to choose smarter and riskier scripts over the teen duds she's picked in the past. We already know you're hot Mandy, but can you show us you can act?

Mandy Moore on the Screen

Mandy has been engulfed in the music scene since she was a baby, but she only has four albums to show for it. After recording a series of trashy, pop songs on So Real and I Wanna Be With You, Mandy released a self-titled album with little success. She took a break from the scene and appeared in the films "The Princess Diaries" and "A Walk to Remember" before returning to music with the release of Coverage, an album of covers from the 70's and 80's. Her latest film projects haven't been impressive either, but at least with her work on "How to Deal" and "Chasing Liberty," Mandy has gained the experience she will need for future projects. Mandy appeared alongside Diane Keaton in the new romantic comedy, "Because I Said So."

Mandy Says

On her sudden change from blonde hair:
"I think brunettes have more fun."

On growing up:
"My body is changing. I just got boobs, and I now have hips. I'm like a size 6 or 8 now, and I like the way I look. I'm proud of it."

On her body:
"I have big feet, so what? I think that it makes me unique to be different."
