He is an NBA legend, an all-star and a member of the Hall of Fame. He has said public things that would make one cringe and he has written books purely to be heard. He is loud, proud and is one big walking quote

He is Charles Barkley.

One of the most famous and notorious basketball players of his time, Barkley dominated the courts as a power forward. Barkley began his career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1984, and after eight seasons was traded to the Phoenix Suns prior to the 1992-93 campaign. After four seasons in Phoenix, he was traded to the Rockets in August 1996.

He won the NBA’s MVP Award in 1993, is a five-time All-NBA first team selection, and was a member of 11 All-Star teams. He was also named to the 50 Greatest NBA Players of all time.

He was the leading scorer for the gold medal-winning 1992 Olympic Dream Team and the 1996 Olympic team, and has been on the NBA All-Interview First Team several times. Barkley is 13th all-time in NBA scoring, and joins Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history with more than 23,000 points, 12,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists.

He also had no problem expressing his feelings on opposing players, teammates, referees and even team officials throughout his career. There were no boundaries to “Sir Charles” and there still isn’t today.

After he retired in early 2000, Barkley joined TNT as an analyst for the ’00-01 season. Now, Barkley gets to express his opinions on a weekly basis during the NBA season. A passion for the dramatic, Barkley has criticized and chastised current players like Kobe Bryant, the current and future state of the NBA, and has even made comments such as: “Oklahoma is no place for black people.”

What can anyone say really say, but: he is Charles Barkley.
