Poker movies tend to be very popular given the drama involved in the game. It's a game of skill, of course, so there are many angles to be played in a poker scene as opposed to a mindless game like roulette.

Given the exploding popularity of poker, there's also quite a bit of demand for "How to" videos teaching you how to play. There's so much to mastering this game, from understanding the odds to learning how to read and react to other players.

"Rounders" (1998)
This film is the gold standard for poker movies, but it's also much more than that. The characters in the film are excellent, and it's about tthe brotherhood between the two main characters. “Casino Royale” and Its Iconic Poker Scene: An artistic license to kill?
The James Bond movie ‘Casino Royale’ has one of the most highly regarded poker scenes in movie history. It expertly reflects the tension of high-stakes gambling, but its plausibility has often been called into question.

“The Card Counter” (2021)
This recent film is excellent - "In poker, it comes down to knowing the players and the probability of success. With “The Card Counter,” Paul Schrader proves a mastery of both and delivers a powerful portrait of a person whose cage is constantly changing yet remains ever-present."

"Lucky You" (2007)
This isn't a great film, but hard-core poker fans might like it.
